Regen Monitor for Duramax

Getting connected

Most problems are the adapter. See the adapter guide: it must be Bluetooth LE and support 29-bit CAN.

Regen status

How does the app know a regen is running?

During an active regen the filter runs far hotter than in normal driving. Regen Monitor watches the filter temperatures the engine computer reports, and only calls a regen completed when the truck's own counters confirm it: the miles-since-last-regen resets, or the completed count goes up.

What does "interrupted" mean?

The heat ended but the truck didn't count the regen as complete, or the truck was switched off mid-regen. The truck will try again; a longer highway drive soon helps it finish.

What does "unknown" mean in the log?

The phone lost the adapter during a regen for long enough that we can't say how it ended. We never call that an interruption. If it completed, the truck's counter will show it next time.

Can it start a regen or clear a warning?

No. Regen Monitor is read-only. It never writes to your truck.

Alerts

Do alerts work with the phone locked?

Yes, while the app is connected to the adapter. iOS lets a connected Bluetooth app keep running. Allow notifications for Regen Monitor, and turn on Time Sensitive notifications so they come through Focus modes.

The adapter dropped. Do I need to reconnect?

No. Regen Monitor waits for the adapter and picks the drive up where it left off when it's back, even with the phone locked. To stop, tap Stop watching.

Will it drain my phone?

It reads a few small values every couple of seconds over Bluetooth LE, which costs little power. On long drives, a charger helps anyway.

Purchase

Is the unlock a subscription?

No. It's a one-time $14.99 purchase.

Can I try before I pay?

Yes. The free check proves your adapter reaches your engine computer, live regen status is free, and the demo truck shows everything the unlock adds.

How do I restore it on a new iPhone?

Settings → Restore purchase.
